Weekend is for distress

Last Fri, went to meet the handsomes for dinner at Clark Quay which is something I am looking forward too.. Not the meeting them part (Hahaha) but cause it's Fri and that means its the weekend and no need to teach... Teaching is really draining me out..
I tink I spend an average of 9-10hrs in school not counting the number of hours put in back home planning for next day lesson..
Tough isn't it...

The dilemma of life

Currently I am having my last attachment before I graduate this semester... It was wonderful meeting up with colleagues and of course my old pupils whom I taught them last year... They still remember and clamoured around you seeking for attention.. Seeing them appreciate you as a teacher just make me have this glimpse of hope that being a teacher in S'pore is after all worthwhile...

Right now, I am responsible to teach 2 classes. One of them is the best class in P4 which is a daunting task but one that I am looking forward to. So far everything is going on fine and the kids in my P4 are just adorable.. Talkative bunch of kids who are interested in knowing anything and everything under the sun.. Hahaha
So far I am quite blessed with teaching. Hope it stays that way...
Some of you might have heard, yes so far tis week I have not done any lesson plans cause my CTs doesnt need it just briefly infd them what I am going to teach the class. They only need it when I am being observed by them which means less paper work but that doesnt mean my quality of teaching is affected in any way. So far my CTs like the way I am teaching which is a good sign. The kids are responsive to me..

Like what I told some of my frens, I don't really care for the awards.. the distinction grades or the first class honour.. That doesnt mean anything.. What matters is that you touch their life, you did something to change their life.. But here comes the dilemma..
No matter how you go about it, there is still a handful that you will tend to ignore not because you don't care but because your hands are tied-up... Some of the senior teachers have told me, as long as you can save 50-80% of your pupils, it is alreadi quite an achivement..
So how about the remaining population? Sighhh...
It's quite sad isn't it...

Why I am pondering this issue is because I have one pupil whom i tot the last time round and he failed all his papers and went to the tail end class... He can study but needs very close attention and that is something that we teachers cant afford to. He is quite a handful in class jumping around and not doing his work.. in short hyper-active...
But last week, while I was in the school computer lab, he came up to me wanting to play some game.. I told him that he have to complete his work first before I allowed him to.. He did as I told him and allowed him to play game on the computer... He told me: Mr Addy, every week you teach me after school can? Then you let me play game.. I promise you I do my homework.... The other teachers don't let me play and I dont have a computer at home...
Sighhh....

Who says being a teacher is easy!!!!

Sunday Sunday.. No time to rest!!

X-Physique 06

Helped out with X-physique to belay those participants at Climb Adventure.. There is simply no rest for me on a Sunday morning... Things started to get hectic and I feel really tight literally down there as well. Hahaha.. Can you imagine belaying people of all sizes and shapes one whole day? Abrasion plenty abound....

Hall 15 Production

After the X-physique, went to meet the Handsomes for dinner before proceeding to catch our Hall Production at S'pore Repertory Theatre..
Wanted to join in as cast again for this year edition but then I guess I would not have the time to commit judging from last year experience. That was a damn draining emotional encounter but at least I tried my hands in Hall Production last year. This year play was quite interesting and there are definitely raw gems out there.. Kudos to the Production Committee members and casts.. Well done..
Hope there is continuity and may our production goes on to greater height...

PS: Xiaojing says the background photo looks like it's taken inside a toilet. Whaha...

IMPRESSED-ario?

Went for Impresario 06 which is held outside of NTU...
The venue: Rock Auditoriom @ Suntec City..

The location is really not that ideal as it doesn't have the elevated feeling.. Those sitting at the back I wonder wat's their viewing like since the stage is damn small...
I was looking forward to some nice modern jazz dance routine from the groups but alas quite dissapointing.. Whitehood won their category which is rightly so..

I should have gone to the pub or somewhere to catch the Liverpool Vs Man U match man... Luckily Pool won the match!!!

Back to the Past?

I finished watching this HK Drama titled: To get unstuck in time ... a while ago.. But however I wont be reviewing this drama rather just a question that pop up in my head regarding changing something in the past..
If given the chance to change something in the past would you do that? I was intrigued by this question as one of the recent episodes of Smallville (Season 5 Episode 12) was also dealing with this issue.

Both however ended up with disastrous consequences. I guess sometimes it is just fated that our lives are suppose to be the way it appear to be. In no way am I happy with my current life. Given the chance I would love to go change some part of my life or even heck don't want to be born as a human being. Sometimes we have to move on.. whether you like or not....

There are of course certain things that will always be part of your beautiful memories.. Memories that we will take with us forever... That is what I am holding onto for they are the ones that is keeping me sane till now...

So my friends, given the chance would you turn back time? Certain things once gone they are really gone... forever..
I just wish everyone all the best.. Looking forward to the years ahead...
For those lonely souls like me out there.. Happi Valentine's Day

Dinner @ Bacarrat

This place requires at least an advance booking so last minute diners please take note. Due to us being handsome (as Bong puts it) we were given 2 tables cause the long tables are all fully booked. The place was indeed full house on the day that we went.

Here's the food verdict:
For a price of $34 (Actual Price: $38. Given discount, again you would'nt want to ask why.. Haha), the selections are really not that fantastic and the soup was rather bland. It can be better but however luckily their Chocolate Fondue saves the day and Colin gulp down two cups of chocolate which he scooped from the fountain.. Oh gosh.. Whahaha..

Location: Bacarrat @ Bras Basah
Price: $38 per person

On a side note, I tink Colin really have grown 1 size up... I notice in this photo you are as chubby as me leh.. Whaha... The difference is that I am chubby on my face only while you are... Hahaha....

It's like a tradition for my this Maths Gang: Our dinner get-together....
This time round maybe it's the last day of our schooling life (although we still have assignments to hand up no matter what!!! Fish lah) or also just to lo-hei lah for good luck for this year as we are embarking on something new.. A new challenge for most of us..

These are my beloved Maths Gang.... Fought a tough battle with them throughout the 4 Years in NIE... It's a long and tedious battle that we conquered... Still left with 3 more battles before we can finally put a stop to this... Let's hang on yah guys.. They are also the ones that I have been doing assignments and project work with... Thks for pulling me along when ever I am about to sink (almost all the time hor!!! Hahaha)...

Look at the Roche Chocolates!!! We decided to do some test and see which kuku customers will pick the chocolates from the conveyor belt.. Whaha...
No one took it and it came back safely to our table... Hehehe.. Very boh liao hor...

Reader's Theatre

Reader's Theatre.... I shall spare the agony of writing and listing down the benefits of it. I had enuff of explaining all the good points in the report and during the written test last week. But I must say, I had fun creating scripts and performing for the class. I guess everyone in class today did very well. Was quite impressed overall and of course for my group's effort. Hehehe......
It's goodbye CCE... It has taken quite a toll on my health for the past 2 years... Whahaha... Always the one which drained out my brain cell the most...

I will post some photos later on my Hall Carnival that took place in the evening..... And also Happi Bday to Yong Han and Ching Rong... Photos from Ching Rong'g Bday party will also be posted later on when I get it from her.. She had a Uniform-Party Theme.. Wahahaha.. So kinky man...

But for now, it's back to doing my Test Paper which is due later... About 20% more to go before I complete this assignment and tat's it for my Maths Module..

TOFU Boys in Action...

On Sun, The TOFU Boys were in action @ Sentosa for the Surf n Sweat taking part in the Beach Soccer Tournament. It was scorching hot that all of us were burnt. There were also some other Hall 15 residents at Sentosa taking part in other events as well. The TOFU Boyz did not proceed any further than the qualifying rounds as expected although we managed to win one match. What do you expect when we did not even kick a single ball to practice prior to this. But the TOFU Boyz and the rest of the Fiftians will be making their appearances in other events coming up tis year. We all had fun don't we? We kicked ass!!

The most memorable moments was eating Ben n Jerry's ice cream during the break served by 2 cute gals at the counter. Yes.. They are cute all right.. Could be twins actually.... In fact they are more hot than any of the gals found at Surf n Sweat. Enuff said.

TOFU Boyz: Tofu-dy(Addy), TOFU-wen (Junwen), TOFU-yeu (Heng Yeu), TOFU-vin (Alvin), TOFU-nerd (Leonard)...

Long lost frens Contacted....

Over the past few weeks, I managed to trace back a few long lost friends... Friends from Beng Wan Pri Sch (No longer exist by the way). From what I gathered they have been meeting up and I am the only one that have been MIA-ing for so long. I was given their friendster accounts to add them to mine and guess what... I don't recognise most of them!!! Hahaha.. I mean they look totally different from what ever impression I have of them back then in Pri 6. They really changed in terms of look and I guess me too... It would be interesting to catch up with them some day and get to know their names once again cause I tink I might even have forgotten theirs...
I will try to dig out some old photos and post here some other days... Haha

Wat a life!!!!

I had wanted to change the design to my blog but then I have been super busy that I have no time to do it. So therefore it's back to square one again. And with it all the late entries for the past few weeks. Its the lowest point of my life right now for this Year 2006!! And it's only early Feb.. Somehow I will have to survive for the remaining 2 more weeks cause of assignment due and Hall/ODAC Activities!!! What a mess....

Hall CNY Dinner

This time round the CNY Dinner is held at the Function Hall to commemorate the Opening of Hall 15. Too bad the old birds of Hall 15 residents are not available join in with us for the dinner. And my table is the worst!!! With Anthony around, sure table to be messy one......

Dinner with NIE Gang

It was really hard to get together my this group of frens from NIE for a gathering... This is our last semester liao.. So every little time that I can spent with them really meant so much for me. Only I am clearing 4 modules but there's so much work to be done. Assignments and presentation to be done within this 6 weeks!!! Quite a rush I would say...

Went to Sakae Sushi @ Marina Square for the buffet. Better make full use of our students' status while stock last... Hahaha... We have 8 of us trying to squeeze into the table meant for 4 as we do not want to be separated preferring to talk cock sing song in one table. Went to Suntec after that for shopping and I bought Adidas jacket!! We had mass BJ after the shopping was done.. Hahaha.. Ben's and Jerry lah...

Hall Olympiad Opening Ceremony

Its raining babes and hunks in the inagural edition of the HO Opening Ceremony 06. This year is no different from the previous past few years.. It was a feast for the eyes as you get to see the gals wearing customes that exposed their mid-riff.. Hmmm...
But then again some I would rather they wear full suit.. All those fats bulging.. It's better to be kept underwrap.. Eye sore leh... Hahah.. No offense..

This year the standard somehow drop drastically as compared to the previous 2 years and response wise, it was not that great although the hall was still filled up to the brimmed... Hall 7 won the competition and deservedly so. Their stunts was good and oh my.. they managed to combine old classic chinese songs for their routines effortlessly... Superb...

IHG: Rugby

Foolishly or stupidly, my name was on Hall 15 Rugby's Team for IHG05/06. For the past 3 seasons, I was just their supporter cause I was never really into contact rugby. All those clashing of bodies, tackling and bringing down of people is just not my cup of tea.

So here I am training with Hall 15 Titans for this year IHG. We did not proceed further than the quarters as we faced Hall 1 the undisputed defending champions, but we did put a battle. I had fun playing rugby with my Hall mates!!! The rain made it even more special.. and my jersey still got mud stain.. Cannot wash off leh..

ODAC Family Photo

I tink I am really asking for it by joining ATC 06. I don't know where I am going to squeeze in the time to do all this and I am in the Publicity Comm.. So much work to do!!! Guess my the other two partners will have to do more work lah.. Whaha.. Pai seh ah..

Farewell Jieying!!

Well I have to cancel my plans to catch Mayday @ KL because our dear Jieying is leaving on the day!!! Sorry Enid...
How I wish I can go overseas attachment too!!! Although NIE allows us but the rate of people taking it is still very low.. The application process thingy I heard is very troublesome for NIE students. Sighh..
